A question about : Traffic Calming

I have long thought that so-called traffic calming measures cause more aggravation than calming! If the humps were much closer together, then drivers would have nothing to gain by accelerating between humps. It would probably be possible to come up with some kind of formula which would provide a perfect pattern of humps and bumps to suit any particular speed limit. It might also be possible to provide a lane which would allow cyclists to match the speed of non-cyclists, and give them some kind of equality with other road-users.

A question about : Aren't Bicycles Great.

Aren't bicycles great, a simple machine that let's people get places in a low cost, lost impact way. Can even be maintained by people with limited mechanical skills like me.

So what are you cycle transport plans for 2015?

I'm planning on doing more long distance travel with mine and more trips by train with the folder.

Looking to get cheap train fares but can't seem to get anywhere on trainline all really expensive circa Ј200 return

Going up regularly at the moment anybody know how to split journey for cheap fare?

A question about : Trainline 20% off..that isnt !

Got an email from Trainline.com with an offer of 20% off my next train fare north, did lots of searching and found what I thought was a bargain fare to York, had to input my special code and got a total price for two of Ј68.80 saving me almost Ј120. Im not able to select seats but they allocate them. Sooooo....went straight to the Grand central site...booked the exact same journey...was able to select 2 nice window and table seats...sadly no 20% off code though....total price....tada...Ј68.80 !!!!!!!!!

A question about : Surviving on a train with a dog

In a few months I'll be travelling to Wales for a holiday using trains. However, as a single parent and dog owner, I will be travelling with my little Yorkie/Jack cross, 3 year old son and suitcase, possibly pushchair too. There is one change and the journey will be just over 2 hours 30 in total.

For those who've attempted anything like this, any advice? Anticipating a lot of stress, so any help welcome! We are travelling midday so its not going to be in rush hour.

A question about : How is National Rail + Tube fare calculated?

How is National Rail + Tube fare calculated?
For example if I start my journey with National Rail in Zone X and then arrive in Zone 1 and then catch the tube at that station and continue in the same Zone?

i.e.; Clapham Junction to London Victoria on National Rail, then London Victoria to Euston on the tube.

I can use a site to calculate the total... but how it's the total calculated?
