A question about : Offsetting debt with savings

I'm currently on a dmp and have 6 creditors ,about to receive some money that I cannot use to pay off debts.I was worried about one of the creditors offsetting this money with my debts.is there a savings account with no connections where I can put it.

  • Why can't you use it to pay off debt?
  • My mum gave me money she has been saving but don't feel I right taking it...just wanted to put it waway for when she needs it..
  • Well then why does she need to give you it? She could open a ISA account and earn some interest on it. This seems off.
  • Go with your mum to open an isa if she's a bit nervous of banks.
