  The Vue Super Tuesday one third off is more flexible any way.

• well, Orange Wednesdays always discriminated against people who had to work Weds evenings and those without friends - never understood why you couldn't get a 1/2 price ticket instead of one free if you didn't have a friend! Same thing surely & I actually spend more at the cinema when I'm on my own (treat of an ice cream etc) than if I go with a friend (bag of sweets in pocket to share!) ...
• The reason I joined EE was just for this offer. Is it possible to get out of the contract because they have withdrawn this at all?

  I have Vodafone and their Spotify, Sky thingy and so on offers but will never use them. Just not interested and it wasn't the selling point for me. That was 20% off through a family member's work discount scheme. O2 offered a discount through the same family member's scheme but the iPhone 6 was excluded and EE offered nothing.
  Plus Vodafone is only a 12 month contract. Was a fairly large upfront payment though. It will be off commitment before I know it. Im not sure how they make any money out of me as I get Unlimited calls, texts and 20GB data and unlimited data for first three months and by the time I take the Ј699 phone out of the equation the airtime works out at about Ј21 a month. Even SIM only isn't that cheap.

  I hope it makes enough of a dent in cinemas profits to cause them to bring their normal prices down. Ј7.50 on average for an adult ticket to watch a film is a disgrace.

• I've been with Orange since before 2000 and haven't changed supplier in all that time. This was a key perk for me and my wife who enjoy getting out to see movies on a regular basis using this offer. Just called to complain that they're stopping this service and asked if they had any details on what they're replacing it with - no details at all.
  I suggested next time they figure out what they're going to replace it with before they announce the cancellation, especially since Orange Wednesdays ends in Feb 2015 and my contract ends in March 2015, after all this time I'm seriously considering leaving. Especially if other suppliers can give us a similar perk.

• Does Orange/EE actually pay the cinema any money for this perk?As we found out recently, suppliers actually pay TESCO to stock their products. The cinema can get some revenue for seats that were empty any way, and they also make extra on pop corn and ice cream.
  There is Super Tuesday currently, and off peak prices before 4 or 5pm. I wouldn't be surprised if the cinemas simply come up with an equivalent offer to boost off peak revenue.
