A question about : How much for new Damp Proof Course.

We have a three bed 1930's semi house we are looking at buying and have been advised that the house needs new Damp Proof Course.

Can anyone give me a rough idea what kind of figure we may be talking about here?

Can you help me? I need to find out when my property was built? Can i do it over the net? I have asked the EA thats selling me it but the dont know. I cant ask my solicitors yet as they cant do the searched until two weeks.

A question about : How much does a new roof cost?

Hi

Roughly how much does a new roof cost on a house? A tile roof on an average/large 3 bed semi (ex council house)?

It has some tiles missing and a lot of moss on the side that does not get the sun, also some woodworm on some beams which we've been advised some parts of them would need replacing. The advice came via a structural engineer who's read the full survey (but not seen the house).

Hi there,
After reading this forum (and various others!), I get the feeling there are quite a few FTB's out there in process of buying a house! I am a FTB myself with my husband and we are now waiting for the solicitor's to prepare something for us to sign which will hopefully lead to exchange of contracts soon.

Like some of the FTB's on this forum, I am feeling a little beat because of all the doom and gloom and suffering from the worst of all nightmares - the possibility of negative equity! Is any other FTB as anxious as I am?

If you are renting or intending to rent, make sure that you check that the landlord has received permission from their mortgage lender, to let the property. Renting from a landlord who doesn't have their mortgage lenders permission, could cost you time; money; hassle and stress.
