A question about : When I asked for luck I didn't mean the bad variety!!!

Hi all,

In a few weeks I will reach the end of what has been one of the worst years of my life and I thought I'd start a diary in the hope of making sure that the coming year will be better.

I actually joined the forum last May so I could enter competitions to while away the evenings on holiday in Cornwall. Little did I know it would become my lifeline just a few weeks later.

After seeing you are such a helpful bunch on here, my wife and I are making this diary to (hopefully) keep us on track to clearing our debts and moving away from an unsustainable lifestyle.

A question about : The Giving Up Smoking Thread!! Part 2

Back in May 2007 jo1972 started a thread for all those DFW's who were tryign to quit smoking. The thread has now grown to over 8000 posts!

As long threads sadly can affect the smooth running of the board I am starting a shiney new thread for you all and closing the old one... Let's hope it is a s successful as the old one!! And good luck to all trying to quit smoking!!!

... and so it begins.... part II of our epic DFW journey that began waaaaaay back (lol) in October 2006. We've come such a long way from then and my old diary (located here) was getting so long I decided to start afresh and begin the next stage of our journey.

Hi Guys

Another one slinking in to start a diary having had a mini cashflow crisis.

Situation is:

Double Mum (2 DS - one 9 one 25mths).

In own house (well mostly belongs to the dreaded bank - but there's another journey)

A question about : 301k in debt and morbidly obese

But things can only get better!

Going to follow the lead of a number of inspiring and wise people on here and catalogue my definite return to the land of off-the-shelf clothing and a debt less than that of small Soviet state.

Will post all the stats later, wife on her way downstairs and this diary is my dirty little secret. (Not the debts, she knows all about them..)

I really did it! I'm still in hospital, it all happened in a bit of a rush, 2 hours from start to finish! Sorry I didn't get chance to start a thread! Will update more this evening, from home hopefully, but we're all okay and Natasha is gorgeous! Typing this on my mobile so not very DFW, and no idea how it works really, but just this once, who cares! Love you all loads, Snaggles xxx
