A question about : cashISA transfer mine to my wifes?
Hi,
I wonder if someone can lend their expertise?
Is it possible to transfer cashISA funds that are in my name to a new cashISA to be opened for my wife (at a different provider)? I understand that it's possible to change providers and transfer the entire funds so long as the account is in my name, but what if i want to do otherwise?
If the question sounds daft, pls do pardon my ignorance.
Pls hlp.
-Theo

- No. ISAs may not be transferred - just the cash inside them. You can close your ISA (subject to account conditions) and open an ISA for your wife - but only if she has not done so this year already.
Make sense? - Theo.
Answer is NO. :-/
Reason is: Because that's the rules!
You can transfer contents of a cash isa in your name to another cash ISA in your name (as long as you don't close it down first) but NOT to an ISA in someone else's name. - Milarky & laminki.......
Thanks for to you both for the advice......
