A question about : British Airways Refund.

I had a return flight booked to LA with BA which was canceled because of the Ash cloud. I had paid BA for my seat to be reserved but despite being promised a refund by BA for this I have still not reserved payment after 8 months and many e-mails! What can I do to get back what BA promised to repay me? (My travel company refunded the cost of the flight for the record)
